This fantasy TV series from Canada follows the bizarre adventures of Dr. Helen Magnus, a British doctor whose area of expertise lies in cryptobiology -- which is to say, monsters. Constantly seeking out the strange and secret creatures seldom seen by others, Dr. Magnus is sometimes confronted with life forms too dangerous to unleash on the public. Often it's the subjects of the doctor's study that are really in danger, and so --believing it to be her moral duty to protect them from the fearful, prying eyes of humanity-- she sets up a 'sanctuary' for the universe's misfits. This release includes the complete first series.

Season two of Sanctuary starts with emotional intensity and fast-paced action...and then never lets up. In a desperate search to find her daughter, Magnus (Amanda Tapping) obtains top secret files that give her clues to the Cabal's catastrophic plan for the Sanctuary Network...and Ashley's (Emilie Ullerup) devastating role in it.

Each one-hour episode of Sanctuary follows the adventures of the beautiful and enigmatic Dr. Helen Magnus and her team at the Sanctuary as they track down, study and try to help the strange and often terrifying creatures that secretly populate our world.

Aided by forensic psychiatrist Dr. Will Zimmerman (Robin Dunne), techno-whiz Henry Foss (Ryan Robbins), her fearless daughter Ashley (Emilie Ullerup) along with her butler, and dear friend Bigfoot (Christopher Heyerdahl), Magnus and her team use their unique combination of instinct, medicine and cutting-edge science and technology to find the creatures that the world refuses to believe exist.

Season two also introduces Kate Freelander (Agam Darshi) into the fold, a quick-talking con-artist who has more than a few tricks up her sleeve. Kate's uneasy relationship to the Cabal could prove useful for Magnus in her search for Ashley, but her less-than-trustworthy track record may cause far more damage than her intel is worth.

The mysterious and sinister John Druitt (Christopher Heyerdahl) is certainly never far from Magnus and his impromptu appearances at the Sanctuary keep everyone on edge.

Season two will reunite viewers with favourite characters including Nikola Tesla (Jonathan Young) and Clara (Christine Chatelaine) as well as reveal the scale of the Sanctuary Network by exploring Sanctuaries around the world.

With a visual style that recalls graphic novels and comic book action in a rich texture of visual effects, Sanctuary sparks the imagination of viewers looking to escape into the seemingly impossible.

Sanctuary, one of television's most groundbreaking series, blazes a trail across the television landscape by shooting predominantly on green screen and employing a staggering number of stunning visual effects. It was also the first television series in North America to use the RED camera exclusively.
